And interesting article on the N8 saying it's excellent, for what it is.
http://www.fonearena.com/blog/23501/the-nokia-n8-is-perfect-there-i-said-it.html
"Don’t buy the N8 for what it isn’t. Buy it for what it is. The most perfect Symbian camera & multimedia phone to date."

Nokia could save themselves $1billion a year if they stopped pissing in the wind with this Symbian bollocks.

Does look appealing, and the real call buttons are a good feature. But the HDMI out and other stuff on the N8 make it more interesting.

Honestly, honestly honestly when are you EVER going to use an HDMI out on a mobile phone

When I record biking up the woods and want to watch it back. Or when I put a full length HD biking video on it to play back, as I don't have any other HDMI device. Or playing back the photo's etc. Possibilities are endless tbh.
I doubt there will be much price difference so I'd rather have the N8.

Stick a film on it for watching on the LCD/Plasma, that's what i'd end up using it for.

Every phone is free bar their £30/month contract.
It's either shit and only warrants being free, or they want a big slice of the smart phone market. It will go like hotcakes it you don't have to put any money down.

Phoned O2 as it's 4th October as they suggested.
They won't have any information on it, not even tariffs, until approx. w/c 18th October, when it will be in stock.
Bunch of morons.

I had an email this afternoon from quidco saying they've got £100 cashback if you order the N8 on contract with Vodafone.
I'm not interested in the slightest, but thought of this thread

All the hands-on vids on YouTube with pre-production phones seems good and everyone pleasantly surprised.

good to know. So areO2 basically not letting on they know all the details? How much is the phone on £30/month? And is that £35/month 18 month?
Although £100 cash back via Vodafone sounds mighty appealing so O2 might be losing a customer.
