I can only see one issue with these mounts and my headrest:
Will the fact the seats come up more at the sides not catch the mount?
I like the look of some of these mounts though, gonna buy one of these after this trackday.

Is that as high as the headrest goes? If not, raise it and mount it higer up.

Well then, don't mount it to the side, point it towards the windscreen a little more to avoid the bump.

I'll just tell the passenger not to lean too far back lol. In fairness, the helmet won't allow them too anyway

you could use a bit of 4 or 6 mm flat bar and drill holes for the head reast to go through, what type of camera do you have?

Obviously it's removable from the sucker, I do have other mounts that you can stick on but that's more permanent than I want it to be

okay ignore how crude the ms paint drawing is
use a but of 4 or 6mm flat bar long enough to rest on the seat at either side but have one side longer for the camera to go on, drill holes for the headrest and one at the end for the camera
you can then fix the camera on with a bolt that has the correct thread for your camera, bolt up through the bottom, put a nut on over the top and then attach the camera, the nut can be used to tighten down on the flat bar and stop the camera moving
if that makes sense

Yeah that makes sense, that's what I was thinking of doing and can just use a clamp to hold the bit of wood tight to the headrest so that it wouldn't hit the actual chair. I'm just trying to make up a mount using the ones I've got to attach to my helmet, if it's good I'll use that, or just borrow Ollies one tomorrow.

Graham, have you shown them how strong the suction mount is on the gopro? or have you chanced it like I did on an MSV open pitlane day?
It's not coming off, not even if you pull on it, can't see their problem tbh.

I tried explaining that to the guy at Silverstone, but he was having none of it. As you say, you can hang off the thing and it won't come off, but rules are rules to them.
What do you mean shown and chanced it?

Yeah I tried that at Brands at the Performance Ford Trackday. But I got spotted and had to take it off. Was bullshit as Jamsport had the same camera on their FRS...I'm fed up of leaving it to chance so wanna get a proper mount now, this helmet cam seems good
