so it is a tool to show people where you are?

1- this is going to end in a lawsuit irregardless of terms & conditions.

2- it's a stupid idea.

3- If I wanted to let my "friends" (let's face it, loads of people have "friends" on facebook that aren't really friends, some people they barely know etc, but if I wanted to let my actual friends know where I was I'd send them a text or call them.

Overall, my opinion of this application is that it's pretty much useless, more of an invasion of privacy (people like to social network, but I doubt they like showing everyone their personal details). It's just something they've made because they're running out of ideas..

of coarse at the end of the day it's up to the user to decide what information they would like to disclose with others but of coarse the ease of access to this information is...questionable, for example: somebody not on your friends list, is at their friends who are on your list and finds out where you are..or where you work. It could happen the same by hacking, if someone gained unauthorised access to somebodys account they then have all the personal information of that persons friends.

ALL IN ALL (wrapping my lecture up)

be the fuck careful what information you share online, and I mean this very much. You may think posting your...favourite band on facebook is safe but to another person this is your secret question answer to MSN?

Just be careful..also Google your e-mail in quotation marks to see what information you are disclosing (you may also be registered on some websites that you don't want others to know about...porn)

examples of what to type into google (including quotes)
"my-email@email-address.com"
"first-name last-name" "location"
"first-name" "age"

hackers, social engineers, exploiters and...stalkers, paedophiles, enemies can and will use your information against you, change your privacy settings on facebook to be more discrete, share less information..another big one:

use different passwords for each website...I have ..experience of accessing others e-mails and then finding their email password to be the same as Steam accounts, Paypal accounts and more.

Rant over, I appreciate most won't read the full lot but for those that do, take my advice, please.

I quite like the idea. It's no different than updating your status to say you're at the zoo.

But it was weird seeing Nath update to carpetright

In your account settings, then the notifications tab along the top, scroll down and uncheck the 2 places boxes
