Its not about the numbers though, more about the delivery and how it puts the power down on the road.
Gotta remember, the N/A wont suffer from turbo lag.
It may be faster on paper, but on the road its a different story.
A 1.9D doesn't have any power to put down on the road, there's no chance in a million years it's faster.
maybe it's one of these 'what if?' scenario's he's talking about.
the gttdi was in top gear at 1,000rpm just ticking over, cruising down the road and the n/a came up next to it, 3rd gear, 3k rpm and beat it
some people are beyond help.

Jambo - he's not asked for performance cars, he asked about performance diesels. Most of the ones listed in here come under that title.
Apart from a MK3 1.9D Golf of course

the performance diesel market is pretty big at the moment and i only going to get bigger.
the fact is, people want power as well as economy nowadays, and a lot of petrol's will never be as good.

Its an opinion. They really shouldnt post pics asking for opinions if they cant take it or dont like negative comments. If i like it,i will say,if i dont,i will say what i dont like.if its over-priced i will say,if its falsely advertised,i will say.
What your basically saying is,i shouldnt comment because of what i drove/drive??So if i had a 150k supercar, does that mean i can make bad comments on cars under 150k,but not over 150K.

So a modified diesel against a standard petrol yeah? Oh, and even then, a Focus ST/Astra VXR/whatever other hot hatch of the moment will make power for FAR longer than 2k, and more than 3k too. So I'm not sure what car you're referring to in comparison?

Just because a diesel is fast does not make it cool. They are grandad and rep mobiles. Save the tractor for commuting, they are not performance cars. End of.

People who don't recognise diesels as being quick and 'fun' are living in the dark ages!
I suppose seeing is believing!

No John, just no. A Mazda is not a grandads car, as then you are saying that an RX7 is a grandads car. If you said a Mazda 3 TS2 (generally the diesel too), then yes, I'd agree with you. But how many Grandads do you know with an MPS? I know none. How many Grandads do I know with a diesel, oh, that's all of them.
Edit just noticed you said Asian, and there aren't even any Asians with one on the MPS forum Just picking a nationality out the hat I see to try and defend your shit argument.

What Eck said. I'm not denying there aren't some quick diesels now. But they look broken whilst doing so with the soot out the back and having no rev range is boring. Petrol turbo delivery is much more fun than Derv.
I've got plenty of friends who have had fast Diesels. Not surprising really that nearly all of them now own Petrol turbo cars, says wonders to me.
