Can't afford for Laura to stay at home now here maternity pay has finished so not much choice.
We found a reasonably priced nursery that was really good at £3.60 an hour.
Some of the shit ones were £40+ a day

Jeez I didn't realise nursery's were so expensive. Becky wants to open her own nursery in a few years time. Imagine if you had 15 kids in, at £3.60 for 8 hours every day

Thats nearly £450 a day, £2250 a week - £9750 a month

3 Members of staff including yourself (could get a student or level 2 on minimum wage) and obviously insurance costs etc.

Pay level 3's or above £10 an hour - £3466 in total a month
Student on minimum wage - £4.83 - £840

Still left with £5444 for premises, insurance, fees, activities, etc.

Joe, fancy starting up a nursery with me

Me and Laura have had this conversation many times
Nurseries make a fucking bomb, the one Laura works in has 30 kids Mike and pretty much everyone is paid minimum wage

We've already said if we were to win the lottery we'd start a nursery

Becky's is the same, they ussually have 15 - 20 kids in, she's on not much more than minimum wage (and she's a level 3). I never realised they were so expensive.

I think lottery win, random relative dying and leaving me some money, obscure man on the street giving me his wallet filled with 50's....i'd probably look at starting a nursery

I didn't say how big a win
TBH though I'd be bored and want something to keep me occupied so I figure doing the admin involved in running a nursery one day a week wouldn't be too bad
Laura's manager is in for a couple of hours once or twice a week, I could live with that

This was the other thought, give Laura a nursery to run and I'll start a garage with the proviso that the mechanics have to have me as an apprentice
