I'm not sure tbh. I used one of those online calculators, but the amount differs to my wage slip. So I assume its something to do with the tax.

So if I get a bike for £600 the Gross monthly reduction is £50 a month, are you saying I'll pay less than that?

Do your self a massive favour, DON'T GO TO A CAR SHOP FOR BIKES! Let alone a piece of shit carrera. Help your local bike shops, family owned, the one i used to work at did great things with the cycle scheme, sold atleast 75% of our bikes on that scheme. And all bikes were high quality and set-up correctly. Unlike halfords.

I wouldnt get a carerra if i was you either to be honest. We had one in work today, i was doing a service on it and it turns out that it had no bushings on the back, and it just rubs metal on metal. Lovely.
Do you need a mountain bike anyway? What kind of riding will you be doing?
Try using the calculator on there

why dont you look on ebay for a second hand bike?
Some on there are basically new and you pick them up for half the price.

So this is basically a push bike on a 0% PCP package? You pay monthly for a year with no interest and then buy it for what its worth at the end of the year?
My work do it but never looked into it, didn't seem very appealing, for me to bike to work i'd want them paying me £30 a month.

You pay monthly out of your wage. But you dont have to pay tax or NI or VAT etc so you save around 40%
The way they do it, is that you are leasing the bike off them for a period. So for you to own it, you have to pay a small fee £15 to "buy" it off them

The goverment have moved the goal posts, so the final value fee from 1st october is a lot higher.
I picked up an 09 model, total saving is 50% on last years RRP.
but bike shop want the 10% up front to cover there loss taken by cyclescheme.
Cyclescheme was the biggest growing company last year with a turnover of 60million.

Roughly how much would a bike worth £900 be a month and what would i pay after 12 month to own it?

I spent basically a grand on my road bike and I think it cost me something like £50-£55 a month over 12 months. So I ended up paying about £600 for £1000 worth of bike.
Not sure about the final payment to own it. My work don't enforce that bit.
