Sounds like you've made your own mind up.
I would just add that if I was living in a hotel or what ever for the week away from home, I certainly wouldn't want a 50min commute on top. I'd be living as close to work as possible.

Good website, I've used it a few times to advertise spare rooms I wanted to rent out.

If you can guarentee 4 nights a week for 6 months at a hotel they should be able to do you a good deal. I've known some silly good deals done for regular guests. This was at Marriott tho so I expect the profit margins and flexibility on price will be less at a travel lodge.

Ive had a u2u from someone who works in Premier Inn regarding bulk bookings so I will see where that goes, its a possibility. Only problem with hotels is in regards to what do I do for food as and when, cant be taking away / restauranting every night, I would end up weighing 20 stone

You could try and get a few things thrown in like breakfast etc. Premier Inns always have a Pub attached so they could probs sort something out. Also try and get free wifi etc thrown in if its not already.

Rather than pinning yourself down with debt see if it works out on a temporary basis by finding somewhere with a shared rent basis.

Shared rent basis, what do you mean, a house share?
