How would you get the plate at the back of the crack? Hasn't the B Pillar got an inside skin? Meaning you would have to get the plate behind that and it would be hard to weld in place.

I'm pretty sure you can get in their, dont hold me to this though. But you only need to hold it in position not weld from inside the car your going to be welding through the crack onto the plate if you get me

my old one had the crack there, didnt fail the mot but they did say it wasnt worth repaired as they thought it would only end up coming back

Coverd it up with blue paint, and sold it on, due to rot in the rear suspension legs

what have they actually done there, looks like a bit of tape over it?

doesnt actually look like its cracked, more blister like?

They tried welding it then sprayed it with primer, Badly.

my old b had cracked pillars and never failed an mot because of it?

I get what you mean. But surely it will crack again as the plate isn't really welded in place and just held there through the crack.

should of covered i up with a bit of gaffer for the mot a bit john wayneish i know but thats how i got my old gsi through, then i got it repaired when the funds allowed.

You have a point there, the test station are not allowed to remove anything from the car for an MOT.

True. We had a very anal examiner where i used to work. When his rusty old rover was in for an Mot he taped all the rusty bits up and passed it

back in the days i worked at the GM body-shop
and the corsa was a new car .. with warranty
it was an solution to this problem ,b pillar crack .
consist of several places to weld (drilling holes ++) and filling pillar whit some special 2k glue ..
explained in the TIS .
does this tutorial not exist in corsasport forum ?

So the quotes finally here, altogether it comes too £374.33 EXCLUDING VAT.

What do people think of that? Also how do you work out the VAT lol :/

Thats to make the crack bigger so they can weld it, weld it. Then prep and paint the area so it blends in.

They said it definitely wont come back too, and there very very good, but hmm in two minds what to do.

I think thats expensive, considering i was quoted £250 to grind the rust off my boot, re-smooth it and re-spray it
