Thats it mate, taking it apart was fine but I honestly spent about half an hour trying to get the thing back together! If the SMDs decide to stop working then its tough, I'm not doing it again, lol.

Well I don't envy you having to go into the console again mate, lol!
I'm still gutted about my screwdriver end and the non-working fan selector switch!

Just been out to take some pics now its dark and the difference between the new SMDs and the old LEDs is really quite amazing:
These pics really don't do them justice.
A pic of the old LEDs just for comparison:

Clayed and polished the car this morning - haven't waxed or back-to-blacked though. Probably the first time this has ever been done to the car!
It looks loads better though I could have done a more detailed job on it but it will do.
Showed up every little imperfection and its made me realise that this car is going to need a total respray... which means that I'm not going to be spending anymore money on it as I can't justify it. Just going to keep it running well and I may get some of the more major bodywork issues seen to but other than that the car is staying like this now.
Even contemplating selling due to boredom and an ever increasing lack of enthusiasm for it, something the newly discovered bodywork issues has made worse...

Just went out to wax the car and its raining
Got a couple of beading shots on the bonnet and roof though:
Is it essential to wax it after its been polished?

Thanks for the nice comments lads
Yeah the bodywork in general is quite poor to be fair, planning on getting the worst of it sorted at a bodyshop soon though. The polish its had has brought it up nice though I think
And cheers Dan, I like the lights too!

Not much going on at the moment (me and the car aren't talking), few things in the pipeline though including a change of wheels... will know more by the end of the week. Updated list anyway, more so I can keep track myself of whats going on and needs doing before PVS:
TO DO BEFORE PVS LIST
1. Tracking (been told its ok though and the steering wheel is just out of line)
2. Get some more bloody super bright SMDs fitted behind the heater controls
3. Stereo (got, need to fit it properly)
4. Bloody good clean/wax/polish (done)
5. Steering wheel (will have it tomorrow)
6. Depo's
7. Sort all the niggly little bits that are annoying me
8. Aerial
9. Bodyshop for rust removal, etc
10. Get rev counter wired in
11. New splitter
12. Source a rocker cover
13. CC bootlock surround (done)
14. Paint calipers
15. Paint drums black
16. New wiper arms
17. Get a temperature sensor
18. Get moulded mudflaps
19. Fit CC'd handle surrounds (done)
20. GSi skirts
21. Change of wheels...??
22. Clean engine bay for what its worth...
Going to be a right little convoy going down to PVS, there is definitely me and a couple of mates going down along with a few other lads my mate knows who all have Corsas, about eight in total. Can't wait!

Just purchased this bad boy:
Now I KNOW this doesn't need a special squib or anything as its the same wheel, just with an extra spoke. Pics up when fitted

Don't care, better than the shitty standard two-spoke one so I'm happy.

Re-jigged the list again to get in priority order and added coilovers... I either spend money on them or a new tattoo but not decided yet, lol!

5. Aerial
6. Get rev counter wired in
7. Paint calipers red
8. Paint drums black
9. New wiper arms
10. Get moulded mudflaps
11. Source a rocker cover
12. Clean engine bay for what its worth...
13. Get some more bloody super bright SMDs fitted behind the heater controls
14. Get a temperature sensor
15. Sort all the niggly little bits that are annoying me
16. New splitter
17. Stereo (done)
18. Bloody good clean/wax/polish (done, will obviously be done again the day before PVS)
19. SRi steering wheel (awaiting delivery)

Depos are very easy mate, pull the plugs out of the back of the light, 2 10mm bolts on top of the headlight and thats it.
I tend to unbolt the two bumper bolts that bolt to the slam panel so I can apply pressure on the bumper so it moves down a bit, gives the headlight more space to get out as its a tight squeeze , its not necessary though, just don't be afraid to use a bit of force as they can be a bit stubborn.
Piece of pish.
