Properly sorted the wheels out yesterday with a full degrease, de-ironise, then a gentle scrub and wax sealant.

So I got another Renault...this time a Megane GT220 Sportswagon (estate)...because I also have a 4 month old daughter and need the room.
I love the Megane, plenty of grunt and some real potential for mods

Genuinely surprised by that, what with the love of fast frenchies in the UK. This isnt amazingly quick (yet) but it has plenty of torque in the mid-range which is useful. In some ways its a bit like the Clio like the steering feel, but the power delivery is like night and day...not sure which I prefer to be honest!

Do you get paid more over there though to compensate for the prices of the cars? Seems outlandish as hell

white collar salaries in Sydney are better than most places, but car prices are still extortionate towards the upper end of the market. Fast euros in particular are a huge rip off.
The lower end of the market the prices are parity with Europe and US. Can buy cars as cheaply as $14k for a horrid little Mitsubishi Mirage which works out about STG7k
This Megane is around $42k on the road, so halve that to get the UK STG conversion, about STG21k

Focus RS are still $40k second hand! They haven't depreciated much at all. Still very expensive for what it is

They are still around £20k in UK, so about the same, plus you get a 5 year warranty from AHG here
