Wing V1 survived testing today

Super BGW

Will 'finish' the tabs and uprights as we now know whats excess etc.

Tabs gloss white, uprights matt/satin black

Will add an X wire brace too, to help with lateral loads

Looks good does that, is there any risk of it flexing in the middle? Or is it pretty rigid?

its pretty ridgid but will flex a bit.

Noticed the MPG in the RRS was worse with the wing poking above the skyline roof line

some small issues to deal with and some more plans to implement.... thats what the day was all about though

We had to go find the bloody power steering belt on the track at one point It came off twice, first time it got cought on the tray and the second it fell out on to the track

Fee lost power steering entering duffus at about 70mph and I lost it at the hairpin.

Its a pretty damn heavy car to steer without PS

upto the top....

I need to make a slight re-jog to keep scruitineers happier

So a bit less extension and a fraction off the height is needed.

I'll make up so drawings.....

LiVe Lee, could you make up some cad files again?

Corsa Sport Gav - could you help out with laser cutting again?

so, this time its a bit chunkier, but more vertical. We were getting issues with it protruding to far from the rear bumper

Same sort of design for the inner 'weight saving' bit, triangles with rounded points... 25mm between triangles and edges

8mm aluminium

Are you doing any sort of stress analysis on it?

I could, but I'm not. The stress analysis is purely done in practice by Fee/AK. The last ones didnt fail

are you happy with these dims; I've taken a flyer with the angle at 12.5degree (showing 13) and I've only left 20mm between the triangular cut outs; 25mm to the edges

looks good, perhaps more of an angle would be good, I'd guestimate 16deg and dimensions to suit that... roughly an overall height of 300mm.

Can you do that? And... yup, 8mm thick

Alan - na, club level motorsport I know 8mm alu supports are strong in the directions i'm putting forces through them. I've just made the end plates for the wing bigger so might need to finally introduce those cross braces I talked about 2 years back
