My car came with full Mazda history, but I didn't really care tbh, you can tell more about a car by looking around it than a little book with a stamp in it. Saying that though Mazda's have a digital service record...

Will be interesting when it comes to sell, as technically my car has 15k miles of service records now missing, because I've done it all myself every 5k. So basically based on the fact most people are paying £250+ each service, I'm paying about £40 & my time, I think it's worth losing a bit on a sale when it comes to it

BINGO

Exactly my thoughts, another thing is when I go to look at a car and it's got 4 Wanli's on a 15k car, puts me right off

That annoys me. Why buy an expensive car then skimp on things like tyres Just comes across as cheap skate and makes you wonder how well they have actually looked after it

Tbh the VXR was serviced at MPG who are a recognised VX centre but not sure if their stamp counted as FVSH.

The Audi won't be going anywhere other than an Audi dealership.

15k missing isn't much.

That reminds me, my car is due a service. But fuck me if I'm using my local SEAT garage

Is that because it was 26k?

Yes partly..... its because I don't want to lose money when I part ex in the future due to it not having FASH. Also i'd rather Audi looked after it and I benefit from their awesome service than taking it to an indie garage.

Audi aren't much better than anywhere else tbh.

They'll appear to give you good service out the front but it's still the same spotty teenager through the back.

I serviced a new shape TT recently, last place it had been was Audi, they'd burst all the engine cover (which is the air intake) and tried to glue it back together.

I agree with keeping the FASH for resale value though.

No spotty teenagers at Warrington Audi, unless they were all on their day off when I was last there. The showroom has a massive glass wall at one end so you can see into the garage. Looked immense. Was as clean as an F1 workshop. I was well impressed. Pissed all over Vauxhall.

Begrudgingly paying for the stamp is one thing.

Believing you are getting your monies worth is another.

I disagree. FASH isn't going to get you any more money part-ex than a FSH, imo

I'd much rather pay a bit extra to get treated properly, get a nice courtesy car, know my car is going to be looked after, know that i'm getting the dealer stamp in the book, know that gen Audi parts are being used, know i'm covered fully if anything goes tits up..etc etc.

really? I'm open for discussion on this, I'm not being weird or defensive, I'd like to learn.

How much more will Audi offer on a car part-ex with FASH rather than FSH?

They wouldn't of bought it off me at all if I didn't have FASH I didn't sell it to them in the end anyway as I ended up with a better part ex at Mini!

So Audi don't part-ex unless the car has a FASH?

I'm going to phone an Audi garage and ask them this.

No no no I didn't say that. I said MY local Audi garage weren't interested unless it had FASH.

not strictley true, remember all dealers are franchises for the brand, and not owned by audi, and dispite HSO/VQM auditing by the brand should not all be tarred with the same brush

also you statement about the teenager out the back is also wrong, as there is alot of quality control behind the scenes to stop the above problem you mentioned

I got to the point with my car when I thought the service history wasn't adding more value to the car than the services cost. So started doing it myself and writing down what I have done and when
