amount of cars previously crashed i find affects insurance.
if you get a common car that all the youngsters have then it seems to cost more to insure.
i paid £600 for a group 6 1.4 corsa sport, yet £750 ish for the group 18 2.9 vr6 corrado

Agree with Jim. As a rule older cars are a lot more expensive than their newer counterpart even if they are worth 4x as much. I.e Vxr Astra cheaper to insure than Gsi respectively.
Also ///M3 cost me £850 to insure at 25. ///MZ3 was £500 to insure as it's rarer and not the one the boy racers go with and crash.

Not really, a clio will have a lot more grunt down the revs so you can drive it quickly without having to smash through to the limiter each time or keep the revs above 6K

the car keeps the revs above 5800rpm on its own, you change gear and its straight back into vtec when giving the beans. its really not a long wait till vtec... no more then turbo lag in some cars
clios also need to be driven hard to go fast from what ive seen

Youre thinking of the normal 1.2, 1.4s etc. I dont classify the 172 or 182 to be a girls car considering i have never seen a female driver in one yet. I see just as much girls in civic type r's and sports as i do guys (not that i keep a look out for them)

Clio does not have any grunt down the revs.
Under 4k RPM you might as well be waving your arms out the windows.

I based my opinion on driving a 182 and being a passenger in a ctr. The ctr had to be driven hard(er) to get the most out of it from what I saw and felt. Do like the driving position in the ctr

They really don't have a lot more grunt lower down the revs. My mates' old one didn't get moving til higher up the rev range, but it did pull well after that! Although I'm pretty sure if you are in maximum attack mode, dropping down a gear or two shouldn't be too complicated? Then driven like it should be, it'll happily stay in the powerband. CTR/ITR's are one of the most raved about FWD cars for a reason.

I would love to see a blue 182 with darker standard alloys. But the noise & reliability from the ctr is winning me over ever so slightly
