Are you sure it doesn't make a difference?
My brother is 19 and has my old Ibiza FR and cheapest he could find was £3000 fully compy and he put it in my mums name and is down to £1300ish

Im sure they have a way of finding out if its been tampered with.
Best thing to do (as we do with our vans at work some times) is remove the fuse thats supply the tracker. Then short the fuse across 12V causing it to pop. Then put the fuse back in.
If they come asking why it doesnt work then plead that you know nothing, and all they will find is a blown fuse.

it works via GPS signal.
its not ancient technology like a speedo cable for a corsa 12v sting
