My gearbox in my old gti lasted 100k miles and was still going strong when I sold it

iv heard examples lasting a while mates vts did 120k+
both mine failed around 70k, both times was the input shaft bearing, starts whirring, can last like that for ages before eventually leaking oil over the clutch

my vtr box is on 71k and is the original box, my mrs vtr is on 129k and had a recon box at 92k and a mates old vtr lasted till 150k on the original box so they can last but they are still shite
