Was in the west end last week and every other car was a Porsche, alot of nice expensive property in Glasgow. 20 minute drive in to the country from the centre and it won't even feel like you're near a major city.

I said outskirts, I wouldn't personally live in Glasgow centre, although as Danny says, there are some very affluent parts.

Ah, Hoole's ok really, just found some of the locals a bit up themselves. The Oaklands used to be a fucking good night out then it just went down the pan.

depends what you define as being the ''best''.

weather wise? earning potential? scenery? natural beauty? etc.

i'd say being somewhere on the coast but isolated would be best for me.

Scotland. I'm yet to fully explore it but from what I have seen, England struggles to compare.

Not sure what all the hype about Devon is either. I had a nice chippy dinner overlooking the sea in Exmouth once but I wouldn't have rated it any higher than Southport tbh.

I'm happy with that equation as I live near the piper hahaha

Yeah the lodge on hoole road does really well I noticed when I went past tonight there were quite a few people sitting outside with it being nice

WTF even the centre of Glasgow is a good place to live, no chance of getting some cheap shitty flat there.

No we dont lol

As in every city you get diverse areas. I live in the centre of Bristol and everybody speaks with a different accent

50 yards away I've got millionaires, 100 yards in the other direction over a bridge I've got council house junkies

Let's call my area diverse separated by water then

Stonehaven!

We've got one of the top pubs in Britain. The inventor of the pneumatic tyre came from here.
Its one of the top 5 places to celebrate new year.

answer depends on a lot of things....

You could live in a really nice place but have no where to work!

I'd rule out any city centres.....

I like the area around Oulton Park, Cheshire is it? That seemed nice.

For simply living somewhere though it would have to be Scotland - Royal Deeside, lovely in the summer, and properly wintery in the winter. Really close to Cairngorms, close enough to civilisation for work etc
