Tbh it was mostly to do with the revs, the reason I hate diesels was just hoping for a bite

In the first couple of gears yes, you have to change gear sooner, but the top 4 gears are longer, so no need to.

It'll also sit in 4th at 30mph and pootle around town at 1000rpm....

That's because it doesn't rev much more than that

I can sit in 6th and poodle around town, easily accelerate at the same pace of 1.2's in 3rd or 4th gear and that's a petrol

The engine in my Mini is fantastic. It will tootle around like a diesel if you want it to, still accelerates faster low down the revs than most average cars do that are trying And it pulls hard right the way up the revs too. Very flexible engine. It's nigh on perfect

Quite a bold claim Matty I still have next to fuckall torque at about 2-3k After that it's quite torquey, then goes tits at 5.5k and is pulling harder and harder til the limiter, hence the need to raise it as there's more power waiting

Don't be silly Mr G. I don't even get 50 miles to £20. Doesn't bother me though as I enjoy it immensely. I just don't get excited by diesels at all.

3" system, turbo back, single box
EGR delete
Bosch 0445110030 injectors
Hybrid turbo
BMW Performance intercooler
Custom boost pipes
Custom map

Unless I go for a different IC that is.

Then, all that will restrict it is the head, in theory.

I'm not convinced it'll rev that far?

And I know the injectors will probably be fine but I'd rather run bigger ones at less duty than standard ones at maximum!

I'm also not sure what to do about air filter. The standard design is shite IMO.

Those DTUK boxes to blame for killing the M32 gearboxes?

I've got a 1.9 150 CDTI and for everyday on the road driving it is perfect. It goes along nicely on the motorway too.

Only average 40 mpg driving around town and 47 if travelling at 80 on the motorway.

my car is cool.

Rather save money not buying silly mods that usually end up with the car being problematic than saving money on mpg.

I bet those who worry about mpg aren't truly commited to saving money in any other way, just their mpg.
