Anyone got any advice on handling the insurance company?
As we've had no answer from the other mans insurance company, I've had to pay my excess which will get re-inbursed should he admit.
As everyone else was involved was stationary and he was clearly speeding, it should be pretty straight forward, but im guessing the insurance company wants to hold onto their money for as long as possible.
Anyone got any advice on how I can speed this up? its starting to take the piss.

Get on to your insurance to contact them, also phone them up yourself.
Your entitled to know everything that's going on (to an extent), will be with the 3rd party claims section from my experience.
Also try the 'you'll be hearing from my solicitor shortly' routine.

yes it did.
My insurance company has requested correspondance from them several times with no answer.
I've sent an email this morning to my insurance comany asking if there's type of proceedings we can start as its taking the piss.
I've also sent a polite email to his insurance company asking for an update.

It takes ages and drags out. When I had my non fault accident it took about 6 months from accident to finish. My whiplash claim took longest tbh.
Your insurance company should be chasing the 3rd party's insurance company. Just keep contacting them and chasing it up.

you can request that his insurance company sends him a final demand letter after a set period i think its around 6 weeks. If they havenbt recieved anything from him then it means he accepts liability.
Just keep on at his insurance and threaten to contact the insurance obunsman (sp)

My cars been repaired, I've paid the excess and had it back.
Hence now, the only person out of pocket is me and not the insurance companies.

it shouldn't be dragging out like this.
the only reason it could be happening is that he won't admit liability. but if you were stationary and he was moving, it's pretty much a no brainer.
i'd phone your insurance company up every day asking them if they've sorted it yet, they'll soon get annoyed and sort it out.

A summary of the work;
-New wheel + tyre + trackings
-readjustment of front axle (Toe + Camber)
-repaint of both right side doors, window channel, handles, doors and mirror, + moulding
-repair + repaint rear bumper, taillight gasket,
-new right rear steering guide,
-new control arm
It actually goes into alot more detail than that and is spread out over 4-5 pages including labour time, but at quick glance, thats most of it.

Insurance companies are shit. Pay all that money to be protected and they mug you off when you need them.

good news from my insurance company;
quote:
Dear Mr Venn
Thank you for your email.
I have reviewed your file and can confirm we have started our reimbursement process.
The Third Party Insurers now have 28 days to raise payment for our outlay.
If they fail to do so we will pass the file to our legal team who will look to issue court proceedings against them.
Once we have further information we will update you.
If you require any further assistance please do not hesitate to contact us.

Tell them that you have an arrangement with the bank.
They don't fix cars and you don't lend money.
