Free T&C if at office
We also have the odd BBQ etc in summer and stuff.
People who are putting laptop/mobile etc. Is that yours to keep then? I get same but it isn't mine so not really a benefit?
[Edited on 01-11-2011 by Ben J]
well no it isn't mine but I get use of it outside of work i,e my company mobile is the only phone i have
your statement would also ring true to company cars and vans as they do not own them - however if you get access to them outside of work then to me its a benefit

How do they work that out given that the maximum tax free mileage (upto 10,000 miles) allowance is 45p?
You should be paying tax on the amount over 45p

I get 50p a mile. The company then charges the client something like 60p a mile. So they make a little bit of money on my expenses, is that normal?

it went up from 40p to 45p in April. As far as I understand it, you should pay tax on any amount over that.
My company charges out 65ppm but pays us 45ppm.

I get 38p. Which drops to 25p after 10k miles each financial year. I've already done 7700 since April!
What do you do MWG?

I think you could put a tax return in for the extra 7ppm Ben, if there are enough miles to justify doing so.

thats fine, theyll pay tax on that. but if you are receiving more than 40p a mile (i believe thats still the max) then you should be paying tax on the difference ie. tax on 10p a mile, and as a member of 2 accounting bodies it is my required duty to inform the relevant authorities of your tax avoidance. so have that you ginger cunt
