I've actually got a video from Oulton Park behind my mates Dad in his M3 CSL, I'm all over him and eventually overtook, but even he admits he's not a great driver and you can just tell he's not flat out, but according to some people that would mean my Mazda is faster than an M3 CSL, but it really isn't

Being eaten alive? I'm surprised by that. Your thing won't be too far behind Focus RS's? I don't think M3's are that quick. But they aren't designed to be a top speed dragster.

Probably the wrong text, you are right, but I was clearly being pulled away from is the right word, but no there wasn't alot in it and with a map I'd have beaten em. M3's aren't quick, that's all there is too it lol, same as RS4's aren't quick, but they have that kinda stigma where people need to put a facebook status saying they beat one, they are heavy lumps of car 1700kgs+

Exactly. They are nearly two tonnes of metal My mate's starlet quite literally does demolish them, but I know what I'd rather have!

I can see it tbh.
Hill, torque, heavy M3, gears?
In no way however, does a 2minute race up a hill make any accurate summary of either car.
In short, if your after pub figures go buy some with with a lot of bhp. If you understand character, noise, revs and handling (this isn't a measurable btw that's grip your thinking of) then get an M3 and have something fun yet refined and happy to commute as well as tear round a race track.
If you want decent mpg and a broken gearbox that goes well fast up all those up hill drag races the. Get the Astra

And I might add its a bit like comparing a knife to a fork. Yes both you can eat with but they are for completely different purposes even though capable of carrying g out the same task in different ways. You see one is a cheap small family hatch that's designed to go up and down motorways cheaply the other is a mid range medium sized performance saloon.
Couldn't see what car doing a what should I buy?
An Astra diesel or a BMW M3

So we all agree it's just down to personal taste???
I love the look of them and I was on the brink of buying one but something just held me back.

The rs4 is only 50kgs heavier than mine which is a shocker. 1630kgs for the LCR and 1680kgs for the Audi. How the hell is it so light.

LCR 225?
Are you sure they weigh over 1600kgs?!
Thats heavier than my Vectra VXR, and that is as lardy as a lardy thing, and I just can't see that being possible!

You know what I'm wrong. It's the 4wd 2.8 Leon that's that weight. I didn't even know they made such a car

This thing is just silly. 850kg's + 330bhp means no traction until late 4th But even wheel spinning it utterly battered an Evo VII GSR from 80-170

My mate had one that was only 200bhp and it was neck and neck with mine till 120 which for a 15year old car was impressive! 330bhp must be off its tits!

He blew his old 220bhp one to bits, but that was neck and neck with a mate's 320bhp ED30. I never got a chance to race it but I'm quicker on the bridge run! But he absolutely spanks me silly in that thing
