The Audi sat nav is useless but it will help when reselling. My brothers R8 once directed us to an Audi dealer that had moved 3 years ago, the car was only 12months old at the time.

I've read a lot on the carbon issue on them and there's a lot of debate as to whether it actually affects performance.

Carbon build up...

http://audisrs.com/about22291.html&highlight=rs4+carbon+build

some rs4's have lost alot of bhp 50+ at 70k mileage and FASH. iv heard of ones with less mileage.

I don't see why a FASH would make any difference.

It's very debatable that cleaning it makes any difference to the cars performance.

If the car does go tits up and has a FASH, it is alot easier to seek manufacturer goodwill towards the cost of the subsequent repairs. Going Audi indie/specialist will remove any chance of the above happening.

what do you mean "nah"

what byron has put is totally correct, ive seen Audi offer anything from 5% of parts costs to footing the whole bill on an engine replacement, all because dispite the car beeing out of warrenty by some way the customer has shown loyalty to the brand

I don't believe that manufacturers care

I've seen fuck all from loyalty and being out of warranty.

When I see proof, I'll reconsider my opinion.

id consider 2 people that actully have/had worked with or for the manufacture a pretty good bet for telling you how it works

I don't know these 2 people and have not been there to see how it works.

My original question about FASH had fuck all to do with out of warranty repairs anyway. I was just wondering why it was stated and what it implied.

i belive what was implied was that if any repair was needed with regards engine coking / carbon build up that audi may or may not contribute to the final repair if the car was serviced within the dealer network. If a car didnot have FASH then the chances of any goodwill are none..

Audi tend to look after people that show loyalty to the brand... not only that the dealers have the ability to effectivly authorise a repair themselves given the correct circumstances when a vehicle is out of warrenty through a procedure called 'empowerment'

i only mentioned FASH because i was implying most of whom can afford this kind of service history usually look after there cars, specially being a rs4. so possibly it shows that its a audi fault and not a owners fault. just my opinion.

This is exactly why I thought it was mentioned and what it implied.
