Mercedes haven't taken their new car to Jerez, apparently.

Yeah apparently the merc car is 2011 with no EBD.

Kimi is flying, though probably just PR stuff at this stage whilst everyone else takes it steady.

Kimi has already matched the first test fastest time though from last year. That was set by a williams though so doesn't mean much

Mercedes testing plan was to use the 2011 car for this test instead of rushing to get the 2012 car ready. It will be at the 2nd test though.

Some live timing stuff for anyone who is interested - http://f1tests.co.cc/2012.php

Other than the nose and unfinished engine cover fin thing, the Ferrari actually has a nice side profile.

Sorry about 4 posts in a row, but for anyone interested, You can still get a McLaren shirt in any size here: http://www.motorspeed.com/Vodafone-Mclaren-Mercedes-Unisex-Victory-Rocket-Red-T-Shirt/cat/2/sub/108/product/4141

Not a bad price I don't think, just under £24 including delivery. Now I just hope a medium is big enough Oh, and they take Paypal too

Some reports that the Ferrari is an absolute dog... but Alonso takes the seat tomorrow so we'll see what he can do with it.

Looking forward to LH in the McLaren too - hopefully they do some low fuel quali laps as I don't think Button got an opportunity yet, despite the trackside "experts" claiming the McLaren looks planted and on rails - it still hasn't seen the 1:19's yet.

Force India apparently could be a team to watch this year - same with Lotus (Renault). Hopefully they can both keep up the development race during the season if they are indeed looking hot for Austrailia.

Well the McLaren has seen 1:19.464 today.

Mercedes still on top but they are still in the 2011 spec car. The fastest of the 2012 cars so far today has been the Lotus at 1:18.419 which is quick.

Still be alot of difference from testing to first race, the top teams won't be going all out yet!

Sure Red Bull said last year they were 2secs quicker from test to first race!

Force India and Lotus were both very good last year, Di Resta had some good finishes and iirc lotus were very strong during the middle of the season.

Should be interesting to watch them this season

Yeah Renault started good in 2011 but they just couldn't develop through the season and keep up. Maybe new sponsors that have come with Kimi can change that.

RBR/McLaren will definately be sandbagging till' at least the last test - maybe even Q1 in Austrailia. Ferrari I think they may genuinely be struggling based on how the car looks at trackside (according to trackside journo's).

BBC get about half of them live and then a highlights show a few hours later for the rest.

Sky get every single race live, and have also stolen most of the BBC team in terms of presenters/commentators.

If you've got Sky HD (any package) or Sky Sports you'll get the new Sky F1 channel which will be showing all the races.

Ahh nice one I've not seen any GP2 footage so it would make it a lot easier to follow if it was on TV. Sounds good
