Theres' nothing wrong with TAG per se.
They make nice watches and have brand value...the problem is they've diversified their bottom end watches so far the quality has fallen off the planet.
Think Aston Martin...very nice cars...major brand value; but the Cygnet is just an IQ with some frilly bits/leather isn't it?
Bottom end TAG's are £50 watches with a £750 brand uplift as John said

the screw on cover sticks because of a rubber seal around the adjuster pal. my glass has took a fair beating and doesnt have a mark on it.

this
I have an F1 and its excellent and also have a carrera RS2 - which I hardly wear because of the price
Have to agree the lower end tags are no where near the quality of the high end stuff - However the low end tags are better made than most "designer Branded" watches

which is exactly my point
Its that price because of the brand
At least Tag etc have history in watch making
My next watch is IWC for sure

In the grand scheme of things yes it is - but you don't have to spend that much more to get a very good watch rather than what designer brand logo they have stuck on it

that's it exactly mate - people have different drivers and interests
Like cars- some see as a means of getting from a to B. Others look for other qualities from a car

Yeah of course. Was just thinking exactly the same.
I could never justify spending £3k on a watch, I personally think its nuts, but then i'd spend £25k on a car when I can get one that does the same job for £12k.

All watches are a fashion statement I don't care what anyone says . Ok you want it to look nice but you don't go buy one because it's got a special part that u can't see under the case. Your buying for look and brand . You would hardly spend 10k on a watch that was unbranded but built well . Eat that watch connoisseurs (puts on bulletproof jacket)

In all fairness my first 'expensive' watch was a Tag Formula 1 Quartz, I think it was £875 from memory, but paid little more than £750 new. It is more durable than any of my Omega's, wears like new and keeps time better than my automatic watches. I didnt buy it because it was a TAG either, I bought it because I liked it.

you clearly have no idea of watches
yes all watches are brands but some brands have history in watch making. Does DKNY and D&G etc have history of making watches - I guess not
But Tag, ORIS, Seiko, Citizen etc all have foundations for watch making
There are many many watches out there you will never of heard of but are over 10k in value - people do not but these ones for brand names but for the engineering and mechnics in them
yes the low end market for OMEGA and TAG etc will be bought by people because they like them but also the name that goes with it

Can these expensive watches be bought on monthly payments type thing?
Is that whats going on here?
I don't believe anything on here has had £10k and gone into a watch shop and spent it all on a watch

No I don't CORRECT , but still your talking bollocks , fair play that a tag or whatever is made better than casio but the price doesn't fully reflect workmanship . I.e there will be equally as well made watches for £200 out there that tag sell for £2000 just because of brand image . If you think your paying just for quality you must be thick . You buy for brand image mainly that's a fact.
Ps it's in no comparison to car ffs it's a watch

In this day and age, they probably all use the same technology and machines to make the watches, back in the old days is when you paid for workmanship, nowadays its mainly the brand

The really expensive ones are all hand made in house by craftsmen, thought you'd be right into that Jim.
