Ben, I fully respect your opinion and appreciate that fact you have made us aware of it.

How dare they give the captaincy to a player who wears his heart on his sleeve and was just voted England player of the year. someone who kept West Ham in the premiership for 2 years by himself, and is a major reason why Spurs are above Arsenal in the league this season. Also, the player who is the closest to how Stuart Pearce played as a player.

Edit: I should probably say that Gerrard would of also been a brilliant choice, and in fairness should of got it. But, I'll be surprised if Gerrard plays the full 90 today, might not even start after playing 120+ on Sunday, I would expect Kenny would of been on the phone.

I was fully expecting it to be Gerrard btw. But not upset by this.

Who would you prefer if Gerrard doesn't start tonight?

Im currently having a good laugh at all the texts flying in on SSN. Full on OUTRAGE (from jobless liverpool fans) that he got it and not Gerrard.

I dont know why everyone is making such a big issue of it, its just the captain and whats more it will more than likely be just for this one game, some people are getting far too wound up by this

As said above, it really doesn't matter that much who's captain. Gerrard will lead on the pitch, as will Parker no matter whether they have the armband or not
