From what I've seen, it was because she had the stove lit whilst transferring the highly flammable liquid in her kitchen

Just goes to show the mentality of the people who are panic buying.

That couldn't have been good, flames would have been unstopable and huge, must have been pretty scary.

I felt a little bit bad for laughing at that story earlier, then heard that she had the gas stove on when doing it and felt completely fine laughing at the idiot

had 3/4 of a tank in the car, so went after work work this morning to fill it up and waited about 5 minutes.

after i had paid, drove out and saw a huge queue about 100 yards down the road of cars wanting petrol made it just in time.

Did everyone else in the queue have 3/4 of a tank and not really need to get fuel there and then?

I hate going to the petrol station, its always such a ball ache, I go as few times as possible - why would you choose to waste 5minutes of your life when you didn't really need to go anyway.

why not? everyone else is doing it.

i wouldn't have got petrol if there was a queue out the forecourt, there was only a disco and a merc in front of me (both of which put in full tanks) so it was no loss to me.

whenever i go, i use pay at pump as no one else seems to use them.

I got some at about 7.15am this morning. Had to queue for about 20 mins as most of the pumps had run out. Only a few diesel and super unleaded available.

A full tank usually costs me £45, but half cost me £40 this morning.

Before I get blamed for panic buying, I topped up just incase my sister runs out and needs to get to work (hospital) she can use my car then.

By using the 3/4s of a tank you already had in your Z4 before pointlessly topping it up

It's a scam to put the prices up. Demand is that high do they raise it 5p+ a litre people are more concerned about the possible shortage than the price of it. Shortage and strike talks end, prices are still increased yet people don't notice. Clever.

We'd all be better off refusing to buy fuel, its only the public losing out atm.

Must of been a great economy booster.
