Am i watching a different video or something?
The 355 shoots past the starlet, backs off the throttle and indicates to pull in front of the starlet. While he's indicating the bright spark in the starlet decides to put his foot down and pulls alongside the 355, by which point the 355 is no longer accelerating. At no point is anything so much as resembling a 'race' actually occurring. Its just a ferrari overtaking and some kid being a knob in a starlet.

The ferrari boots it past. The starlet gives it some straight after and they both sound like there going for it. The ferrari eventually backs off after a short blast. Thats what video I just watched.

Tbh either way the lad in the starlet is being an utter cock, pulling alongside a car which is clearly indicating to pull into the left lane.

Takes skill to race like that. Straightlines (hard work those things), without a stationary start. Boyz got skillz, bet he feels great.
Put a corner into the equation, or start them off from 0mph, see the results then.
Meanwhile, man in ferrari, drives to his big house, and screws his blonde passanger. Starlet goes home to his bedroom and posts for E points on interwebz and knocks one out

Completely agree with Neil here.
One car trying to indicate in after an overtake, car in inside lane won't let them, no racing at any point.

this, again simply because its a public road, it is not possible to race on public roads, you dont even race on a normal track day and you are driving a lot harder then you do on roads

That's not what I meant Steve.
I could go and have a race with a mate on a public road.
Racing doesn't mean you have to be going round the nurembergring giving your all in a race car.

i wouldnt call it racing tbh, racing by my defintion in car terms would be to compete with one or more others on a set suitable course in an organised event, whereby each party can compete to the highest ability there vehicle allows, has a start and finish, and probably timed

Its not really a race when you cant push your vehicle to its limit, the course is not suitable for racing on, and you have no set variables for time or starting and finishing, and you dont even know if the other party is involved in said race
what you describe i would describe as pratting about on the road or having a blast

A race is a competition on a set course, no set start and end so you can't say it was a race.
I think the Ferarri driver saw the Starlet and thought he would indicate pointlessly and try to move across as some sort of idiotc macho thing to say I'm better then you, wasn't like he was taking a quick exit or needed to go in that lane.
A Clio dCi 80 would have destroyed them both with the amount of shaft bending torque that make.

It looked like they were moving fairly slowly from the bridge they passed under.
What probably happened was the Ferrari was out for a nice Sunday drive, the Starlet has ended up in front of him and slowed to a crawl, forcing the Ferrari to overtake, after which he's put his foot down and claimed he's won.
Having the camera ready to record it helps my case imo.

Gotta love the experts on here giving there top notch analysis
2 cars next to each other booting it trying to get in front of each other is a race whether there's corners, marshalls and a start/finish line involved lol.

So Eck, on that basis every time someone overtakes another car there racing? Or joining a motorway? Come on lets try and be sensible here.

I don't agree, how can you have a race if your starting from an unknown location to an unknown location.
Might as well say people who get away from the lights before the person in the next lane have won a race.
