Ditto. As far as i can make out he was just another scum bag that made it into 'rap'.

quite ironic you call him a scumbag, and that he "made it into" rap, arguably he is one of the people that defined rap and hip hop?

and ironically if you actually knew anything he was a preacher of peace, respect and anti rascism.

I Love 2pac, because he was so successful he was great, is the laws of the hip hop, all the great ones are so successful, look at 50 Cent and Kayne west, real artistic skill in their lyrics, where as people like KRS one who aren't as successful just chat a load of crap that a four year old like me could write.

You'll find that Krs-one isnt popular from his own choice he thinks he is the sole saviour of hip hop as a genre he is good but far too militant for his own good and his later material is really lacking same for alot of "Underground" hip hop, they all try a played out sound that most beat makers used in the 90's using years ago this leads as to why J Dilla is instrumental figure in music just because he was always 2 steps ahead.

Hip Hop + Lies = Rap

Also Illmatic by Nas was released today if anyone on here truly likes Rap/Hip Hop i highly recommend it IS the benchmark for all hip hop as a genre.

I agree that Illmatic is a great album but if you're talking about setting a benchmark you cant look any further than Wu-Tang's, 36 Chambers

Krs one was just an example of me saying, at the time of 2pac there were what I think better artists who had better lyrics and were far more intellectual in their creation and didn't have the fame of 2pac.

Although Krs one chooses to hide away in the shadows in his own way, it's up to the people to search for the good hip hop if they want it, I guess 2pac was more commercial, simple to understand and for many to relate two, I think he was okay personally, just not really my kind of meaningful lyrics that make you think like that of Krs or Robert Diggs.
