I have a massive 3 or 4 meters from the master bedroom to the office (bedroom 4)
I use to do about an hour drive and 20 min walk each day for about 4 years; never really bothered me as knew i couldnt get a better job closer! But now have moved my role to home base i dont think i could go back to the commute!
I do generally have to travel to MK or London weekly tho which i dont mind to much given that the rest of the time I know i will be at home; also helps that those trips are covered on expensess!
Does save me a fortune in fuel tho; and makes me feel im getting my monies worth from my mortgage!

50 miles either way. Good days takes 50 minutes, bad days can be an hour and a half.

Oh yeah, i should probably say that i'm having all my fuel paid at 19p per mile, and my car only costs about 11p per to actually run on the motorway
"Cashback"

Can you also claim up to the government allowance of 45p per mile? So for each mile, you are 26p down by the governments allowance, so you get your tax back on that, so either 5p a mile or 10p a mile.

It's OK, train and tube are usually very busy though. I like not having to use a car.

Need a better car mate.
I have zero tolerance for traffic, it makes me angry, so I think I could be in a Ferrari and my enjoyment of driving to work would only be fractionally increased compared to my shitty Astra.

BTW - the whole commute being a southern thing. The dictionary definition of commute is to travel to work, maybe southerners just have a better vocabulary?
Maybe northerners like to "say is as it is", rather than glam it up with a poncey southern term

had a proper chilled out commute today. was out the door a couple minutes early and managed to miss the traffic build up. was still pretty busy but didn't stop at all on the A13, which is very unusual at 6am.

7 mile commute each way but that cancels out becuse I then have to sit in a lorry all day driving..
Get properly pissed off driving in the car but in the lorry I'm so much more relaxed. Strange..
