7.6 seconds to 60 means you'll get embarrassed by every diesel at the lights, nowhere near fast enough.

I dont think people understand that the original 86 is underpowered with a 1.6 but is a excellent drivers car which is what they wanted to try and repeat again in this car, something fun you dont need excessive speed to have fun.
Some people need to watch Initial D

I think people are severely missing the point of this car.

Think of it as an MX5 with a roof.

Hah, I was thinking about this car and thread on my drive home and I was planning on referring it to an MX5 equivelant
I see that as a bad thing, for the record.
Which is a shame, because I really like the looks of this car inside and out.

How is it being comparable to the best selling sports car of all time a bad thing?

Its standard engine is perfectly capable as well HKS have gotten over 350HP+ with forced induction.

flame suit on.
I would rather have the BMW 135m
320bhp, RWD, 0-60 in 5.1
comes with leather and climate like the GT86, and xenons.
idrive system is brilliant too.
although it is 2.5k more.

0-60 in 7.6 as john says, embarrassed at the lights.
i know it's not always about 0-60 times, but when a company markets a car as 'sporty' and being a drivers car, you'd expect it to go a bit faster than a normal hatchback.

John sold one of the best hot hatches because it was slow and bought a diesel.
Some people like drivers cars, enjoy driving etc. others like to buy rep mobiles with a 2k rev range and told them they dusted xxx car at the lights so they must be slow etc..

having a drivers car is great down some nice country roads, impressing your new lady in the passenger seat, jizzed knickers and all sorts.
that is of course, until you reach a set of traffic lights and an audi/bmw rep wagon pulls up next to you. you give it the revs and straight ahead stare (i call this the paul j pose), go tearing off yet lose to some guy wearing oakley sunglasses with loads of black smoke coming out the exhaust.
embarrassing.

0-60 can GTF as well. I'd love to chuck that around MK's many, many roundabouts.

Winning that scenario also sounds embarrassing

I don't get it?!
Wouldn't get a child in the rear from memory. Fuck all space and certainly not a 2+2
