cheers for that, i think i might stick with alap hd now iv got it running stable, i went out for a 25 mins drive and it didnt crash at all now iv got it to auto start and stop.

Iv done another vid, with a bit more of a sprited drive, shows off the virtual gauges better.

i also set it to log what gear im in, seems to work spot on which is quite cool i thought

That's pretty good.

On a funny note, all I can see is a ear and half a head bouncing around in the car on the corner of the screen

Doesn't appear to really match anything, probably not polling fast enough.

I may follow a similar route with an old phone, be interested to see how the readings compare with the Performancebox.

Yeah 1Hz I think, very approximate.

That's what pissed me off about RaceChrono, looked so good but the data isn't perfect.

GPS will be 1hz, not sure about the obd data rate, got severaly settings from slow to fastest, not sure what any of those equate to in hz, 1hz is once a second?? the obd data is updating faster than that.

Im considering getting an external gps thing, that can do 10hz updates

Are you sure the GPS actually updates at 10Hz?

It might give data to the phone 10 times a second but it probably only gets it's location data every second.

Yeah I looked at 10Hz for RaceChrono on the Nokia handsets, as I remember there's some limited to how much GPS data you can feed in because the NMEA sentences at 10Hz become a few k of data fairly quickly.

I know, but going through all the hasstle editing stuff and all the rest of it in computer, the iPhone app does it all, it's tidy quality and it's easy to upload.

That's just me, I'm not the best with computers
