R-Tronic or manual?
I was going to get the manual after reading the reviews othe R Tronic but I test drive the R Tronic and fell in live with the flappy paddles. It's rubbish in auto when in sport mode but for driving in traffic the standard auto mode is great, and in manual mode with sport mode on too it's actually very good. I've discovered the accelerator has two 'full down' positions though - one where you think it's full down and another if you push even harder, almost like there's a second switch in the floor. When in manual mode if you put your foot to the floor the box will drop down a gear on its own if you aren't in the right rev range for maximum acceleration. Bit annoying at first but it's just a case I getting used to it and then it's great :-D
That's kickdown mate. Most auto's have it, well the VAG ones do anyway. Even my Skoda! Shocked me when I first found it! It's basically a pressure switch under the accelerator.

AFAIK he doesn't own a particular website, but rather has a few successful online stores across platforms like eBay and Amazon. From the updates I see on Facebook he works extremely hard for it - 80 hour weeks and a several year long process to get where he is today. Fair play to him in my opinion.

Correct Paul, and thanks for the kind words :-) I'm also in the process of patenting an invention that I've designed and I think could prove to be very popular indeed if the patent goes through. Never stop working lol

No no... Just the older models are starting to look just that. It is a cracking car, though, and they do sound fantastic. Hate the wheels on the new models, though! Look awful.

Why on earth would I be jealous for?
Oh clever you, you've made an assumption on what I do or do not drive.

Just out of curiosity then, what do you drive?

Lets leave it as curiosity, then. Just no point throwing in the 'jealous' bomb which is completely fabricated and untrue. I like the r8, it's a cracking car as I said, and they sound awesome, just, and in my opinion, I find the older shape a tad dated. Possibly because I see them about so much, I don't know. No jealousy from me. All I will say is I upgraded a lot from my old C63.
