What are the vital statistics on them? I think they look a bit naff so they better be fast

369lb ft of torque
0-62mph in 4.8 seconds

So.....M3 fast without having to rev it as hard.

Pistonheads give's these stats? Also the white one is a B3S, not much difference between the S and standard B3 just a slight facelift and a bit more power etc.

Are those figures the same as a standard 335i? I've seen a lot of people say not to bother getting that shape m3 (none of this model number bollocks here) as the 335i/d is just as quick.

Do you not remember the massive thread in which everyone bummed the magic M like it mysteriously made it a different car even though the new ones are built in the same factory using the same shell.

Oh ofcorse. Personally i couldnt spend £40k on a stupidly rare car knowing im going to do 30k miles a year in it.

remapped 335i will be giving you 380bhp , add intercooler and exhaust should see you to 400.

An Alpina is a torquey, lazy more supple M3. Hence it existing, it caters for a usually older audience who want the pace but aren't wanting a high revving noisy engine with a harsh ride.

A 335i is a normal BM with a fantastic engine and goes fast in a straight line. People who compare them to M3's are idiots. Its a completely different car, its not just 0-60 figures.

Its like when people used to compare the 330ci with the M3. Couldn't be more different vehicles if you tried. One is a silky smooth effortless cruiser with some sweet responses and handling with a deep boomy exhaust. The other is a noisy high revving manual on/off point and shoot machine with wider track and an 8k rev limit.

My old mans B3.3 was quicker about the small town roads than my E46 M3 due to the amount of instant toque it created low down coming out of corners, I simply didn't have the space to wind the M3 up.

Hence I said an Alpina will mince an M3.
