Gav. See rich h's thread about his m////////// that he just bought. He had the same problem as you with the interior. Explains what he used and why. Also about dilution . Nice motor though.

I've been keeping it hush hush for ages

Gav, I done 80 miles in mine today (50 with the roof down) and it was fantastic. Get out and get the roof down (and get the foam out).

I test drove it with the roof off, weather up here is abit hit and miss currently.

Yeah I need to get the foam out. It sounds nice with it in, howmuch you took out?

Does the car say when it needs a service or can garages cancel the reset?

When you first put the key in and turn ignition on it tells you on the clock how many miles to next service, and what service it is (will say oil or insp).

I think all the foam in mine was taken out. I never put any back in and it only gives a deep roar when accelerating quickly. It's quite quiet when cruising.

Ahrite ill have to check that in the morning then cheers.

I might experiment with the foam then, it sounds fecking awesome already anyways.

Need to sort the bit near the bonnet catch, the bit that runs the length of the bonnet, it's abit rusty and if you look in the gap between the bonnet and bumper you can see it.
Also can see abit of something flaked off behind the grille which caught my eye.

is the bit that runs the length of the bonnet white? if so, it's a common problem with all modern bmw's with water based paint. basically, they didn't use enough some guy bought a brand new 1M and had the same issue.

i have the same (also around the boot), but you can't see it on mine unless you have the bonnet or tailgate up.

No the bonnet bit has flaked and gone rusty.

The bit behind the grille which looks like a support similar to the one in the engine bay has flaked white which is why it stood out I think

yeah, the trick with the grilles is to lift to towards you aswell as upwards at the same time. easily stolen!
