Good win yesterday, was nice to see for a change. Swansea were shit and we took full advantage.

And also around 250 miles away lol. Last time they played there they lost 7-1 irrc so was never going to be a high attendance.

Watched Liverpool highlights and they were basically given the 3 points, Swansea looked awful.

Compare your squad to the top sides squads. There's your problem. You just don't have enough quality. Wenger is to blame for that.

[Edited on 18-02-2013 by mwg]
its simply not true though, not in the first 11

Who has the best XI in the league? Genuine question, I'm curious as to what you think.

Tbf though Liverpool did play well. Sturridge is going to be an excellent player for them and finally do his career some good, always been a fan of him.

I said when it was still rumoured that Sturridge would be a great signing. Proven right so far.

He was a bit of a risk, and I said at the time he's a greedy fucker, but Andy Gray made a good point this morning that he wasn't playing frequently at Chelsea so always wanted to score to try and prove himself, now he's guaranteed playing every week he can help the team more than feeling he only needs to help himself.

I don't think you have a good enough first 11 (league/cup standings reflect that) but even looking past that you definitely don't have enough quality in the rest of the squad. Although it's still better than Liverpool's so you can take some comfort

It's no coincidence that selling your best players and replacing with inferior ones has coincided with your decline.
how can anyone think that, as a group of individual players, szs, sagna, mertesacker/koscielny, vermaelen, gibbs/monreal, arteta, wilshere, cazorla, walcott, giroud, podolski is not easily capable of finishing in the top 4.

the problem is that defensively we are still shit, despite the early season promise, arteta has (to quote arseblog) had any instinct of attacking coached out of him and Giroud admittedly, whilst an excellent squad player, is probably the weak link. the team turn up against shit teams thinking theyve won or just dont bother turnign up at all until the 2nd half.

past the first 11, there are some great potential first 11 players but very little in the way of options. having koscielny, rosicky, oxlade-chamberlain etc. as options is great but the rest add very little and even those 3 are practically carbon copies of the starters.

we need more competition for szcz (begovic? simonsen?), a truly world class defender (hummels?), a DM (Capoue?) and a top class striker (Jovetic, in the making)... those 3/4 players would make a massive massive difference at probs £70m, but atm i dont think we will make the top 4 so whether they would come or not, i dont know

Scant consolation

agreed, but up until 2 years ago that was because of the stadium, last 12/18 months thats been no excuse. results announced this week, +£100m in available cash, +£180m in total cash and cash equivs

Contradicting yourself, saying how could you call them shit, then call your defence shit, which is half the players you mentioned.
