It's a bit harsh but unfortunately it's a normal occurrence in software - see a app, give it a slight twist and throw it out again. And let's be honest, Picture Word isn't a completely new concept and i'm sure your friend Nick took a fair amount of inspiration from 4 Pics 1 Word.

It's not necessarily the fact that it's happened that is galling, it's that the 4pics1word devs actually tweeted him to tell him they thought it was a great concept... and then ripped it off.
