Will be decent and a good move given the council are mostly funding it but dont see the need to move full stop tbh and there is no chance in hell that you will fill the stadium. we havent properly sold out the Emirates in over 2 years save a few select matches
Also, thiefing our trophies on the display boards idea huh :/ Good luck with that

I dont normally bother when people bang on about Arsenal not winning anything but coming from a West Ham fan and a Sunderland fan.... come on.

Pffft, that was the last bit I was pointing people to. Although we did also win something in the distant past.

... to fill their new stadium.
attendance stats for the season:
11 West Ham United (14)
played: 14
total: 485540
highest: 35005
average: 34681
capacity: 35647
%: 97.2%
8 Liverpool (7)
played: 15
total: 670425
highest: 44942
average: 44695
capacity: 45362
%: 98.5%
Decent figures, what were they last year?
this season, hence the played games being 14 and 15...

If I was a West Ham fan i'd be gutted. To move from a stadium that has a good atmosphere and is a proper English stadium to what will be a soulless bowl is shocking.

I think its rodoculous too but, as Cavey's link states, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to grow the size and stature of the club and in relaity, they would be foolish not to take it

Complete joke of a project from the start. The stadium will have cost more than any other premiership stadium and then its virtually being given away for free.
No wonder the government doesn't have any money with the amount its put down the drain.
I would much rather they just spent the £100 million its costing to update the ground to keep it maintained over the next 20 years. Still be the olympic statium and host the odd event.
They say that odd events couldn't pay for the stadium but they can't say that West Ham will be paying for it either.

You'd rather it be used once a year with maybe 10,000 people in it than used week in week out? Even empty stadiums cost money, the security on it if it was empty would probably still be £1m+ per year.
It has been a farce because the Olympic committee were determined that it would still be used to athletics and designed it that way with no intention of football ever being played there, their idea of it being put to good use was the same as yours the occasional event every year or two that would attract a few hundred spectators

There are plenty of events it could have hosted. Yes it might only have been the odd Athletics but it could also have held music stuff etc.
Personally I like the idea of keeping the Olympic stadium as that.
IMO renting it for 2M per year is a complete joke. If West Ham wanted it they should have hat to pay for the full conversion costs.

I agree, but do you honestly think they would turn the offer down?
That'd be like someone buying you a brand new ferrari and you say no thanks, rather drive my 15 year old banger.

neither is sunderland
its quite obvious the plan is to take accoss the 35k we have currently, after the 13 sell outs in our last 13 home games, expand the tickets avalible to fans who cant go making it cheaper and also pick up on the daytrippers to london (something the north cant offer to the same degree) as per the arsenal model, that will only follow success on the pitch, will only comes from investment, which comes from increased revenue
