More than an F40 I think. I'm sure the last on I saw for sale with a price was around the £450k mark.
I'm not sure they're as iconic though.

I'm not so sure I agree. I can't see them going much higher than they are now.

They're still rising, 3 years ago were worth half the value it is today.

They make the F40 look like a bargain, and I know what would be more fun and what would turn more heads.

I can't see the F40 ever being a million pound car. I can with a DB5.

Why doesn't he just buy an epic car and drive it, rather than buy it and stick it under a dust cover and hope it increases in value in 5-10 years.

He will drive it. But not every day. He just wants something special which won't lose money, and will hopefully appreciate in value.
He's a money hungry bugger and he didn't get to where he is now by just spending and not caring. He still buys Asda smart price stuff and even buys his jeans from Asda.

For my dad every penny counts. A few years back he got a letter informing him of a tax rebate of something like £16.01 but the cheque he received was only for £16.00 so he wrote to the tax office demanding his 1 penny and he also invoiced them 17 pence for the envelope and stamp.
Sure enough, he got another cheque for 18 pence

About 750k going by pistonheads I think they're just as special in their own way tbh.

Haha, does seem cheap in comparison to others but the running costs of them are insane. And that's going a little wild on the budget

Thought it was just a guideline? You could probably find one for half a mill now though.

The £90k I mentioned in the first post was a guideline, the budget would probably be £400k and that would have to be for something pretty special.
However if anyone happens to find a McLaren F1 for around the £1mil mark then let me know

So £90k is a rough guide, could be £400k unless a McLaren F1 for £1m

That's quite a varied budget, my earlier choices would be a bit different with a £400k budget!

They're 3 very different figures for some very different cars. The Mclaren F1 for a million was a joke. You won't find one of them for less than £3million these days.

£90k would be for something he'd use most dry weekends in the summer, take out for random drives and get driven hard. Then maybe move on to something else after a year or two.
Something closer to the £400k region would be taken out less and kept longer in hope that it kept going up in value and it would be pampered a lot more.

He doesn't own the rig, but he plans what happens on it

I love the XJ220. They're actually getting quite common in Aberdeen. I know of 5 now, but I think they're a good buy. Definitely a future classic. Awesome road presence too.
That cheaper higher milage one would be a much better buy than the delivery milage one.
It looks awesome in black too.
