325mm discs, Calipers to suit.

I'd buy second hand Calipers and carriers then buy rebuilt ones through work with new discs and pads.

Will be a couple of hundred quid but it's good apparently.

Need an m3 master cyl and servo to get the best from it though.

Or a coupe

I've been a nutsack and bought non check control rear lights.

I can fit them but I'll have a permanent 'omg your bulbs are blown' warning.

So, I can either mess around with snips, a soldering iron, glue and effort, or try to find a bargain set of check control compatible ones, which doesn't seem to be possible

Did a few bits in my week off -

Fitted new all new bulbs at the front, fog lights were a pain but I got there in the end, they're not a lot brighter than before but they're less blue.

Changed the head unit from the horrible JVC cd changer one to another JVC unit with red backlight so it looks a lot better now, looking for a genuine bmw cd unit for less than £1,000,000 though.

Changed the side repeaters as the originals had gone dark over time.

Tried the new grilles on but they didnt work too well, left gaps all over the place so I need to get a pair of genuine ones.

Swapped the number plates over for some plain ones

Fitted my k&n panel filter and removed the airbox baffle at the same time.

I also tried the lights I won on eBay and as expected, it made the check control light come on, what I wasn't expecting was the smell of burning with them fitted... So, they're now in the bin and I'm on the look out for a pair of check control compatible ones as it looks spot on!

Everything I read said the master cylinder had to be from an evo so it has the correct threads, mine only needed the pipes bending slightly
Not sure if the 3.0 master cylinder is actually different though

Return them knobhead. I'm currently contemplating clears for mine, especially if I go black wheels. H&R cup kit is next on the list though, will be ordering in the next week or so. Any plans suspension wise?

Yeah, slowly saving for some BC coilovers, they were great on the mx5 and the price is reasonable too.

As for the lights, I'm going to make them work, the metal 'wiring' is attached externally with little melted plastic blobs, I'll just swap them over with the ones on the car which are correct, the damage on these is now fixed with a tiny blob of superglue

Makes perfect sense!

The only thing which concerns me is the 60/40 drop, my sure how it would sit.

Does yours sit pissed at the back? Mine is higher on the nearside, apparently it's normal as BMW built them to level out with a left hand driver sat in but it winds me up no end

Yeah it does, perfectly normal that. I'm pretty OCD and it's never really bothered me haha.

Know what you mean about the drop, I've looked at loads of pics though, looks fine.

My 323i coup was like a tank when I had it! Surely they haven't all rotted away or been trashed?!

Onto the E46 it is then
