Good stuff mate Looks like you're really getting into all this now!
How long ago was it detailed by Mike? Reason I ask is that I remember he applied CQUK to it - which lasts around a year. If you were finding it wasn't appearing to be working anymore then all you actually needed to do was to wash the car with an APC / shampoo mix and give it a quick top up with Reload and you'd have been good to go! I could go into it more, but I don't want to bore you lol.
Also, Dave, your favoured trim dressing is boot polish is it not?!

Hoover the stripes by going one way then the other because of the material the seats are.

Looks lovely this. Nice and original too. The euro look on Scoobs is beyond me. If its a Scoob, it should have a big fucking spoiler on the boot. End of.

To continue that...
Mike had the car in November, so a good six months ago. He recently offered to apply the restore stuff but as I had a couple of scratches I wanted to address, I decided it was a good excuse for a full strip and polish.
I need some heavier compounds/pads for next time, pretty sure I can completely remove the two scratches which I've hidden this time around.
Hopefully I'll have a garage and more space next time round so I can get out of the sun and take a bit more time over it.

apart from the fair liquid, which contains more salt than your average country road in winter, seeping into bits of ally spaceframe i really cant see an issue

I was a doubter at one point, using washing up liquid and a sponge full of grit and thinking I get the same results as the 'detailers'. £30 on a wash mitt, 2 buckets and some decent shampoo makes a world of difference.

This is complete rubbish.
Do you really think that fairy liquid has enough salt in it to damage a car?
It doesn't do any harm to paintwork either contrary to what you want to blindly believe on DW or wherever you're repeating it from.

I think the main "danger" of Fairy in a regular routine is damage to rubber trim as its a bit harsh.
I think rusting the subframe is a bit excessive!

£30 on a mitt? I hope it's lined with gold After trying a few (including Dodo's wookie fist) my favourite is the Meguiar's one, which I think is about £11 or £12. Recently bought a pack of 3 from Polished Bliss where you get 5% off

That the one with a net on the backside? That's the one I have and the net is super effective for removing insects and other stubborn shit.

No. I was meaning a mitt, 2 mixing buckets from b&q and some shampoo will only set you back about £30.

Oh right, that makes more sense Fair enough then I was thinking that I hadn't seen any mitts that expensive anywhere
Balling - that's the one I keep catching it on bits on trim that are sticking out recently so now two of them have holes in the mesh The rest of it is all good though.

My wash mitt cost £3 and is made by jml . Probably made with grit or something.
