Awesome trip, awesome photos. I really need to see more of America.

Really worth driving out to Canyon see it in your own time, stop off where you want.

What kind of room did you upgrade to at Venetian? Sister got a trip to Vegas via work Nov last year, put up in a Palazzo suite for 5 nights.

Put my rooms at PH to shame.

Do like that area of the strip, anything past New York starts getting bit out the way like Excalibur / Luxor / Mandalay.

Alcatraz is on my must do list, not sure it will interest the missus.

Looking forward to rest of pics.

We stayed at the Venetian in September. Slipped the receptionist $50 in with the passports, got a massive upgrade to one of the bigger suites for the three nights we were there. A little trip my sister picked up on her travels

Love your pics too, especially the night time Vegas ones.
I thought Alcatraz was brilliant, this was in the days when they gave you a tape playing Walkman and headphones and that narrated your tour around. How do they do it these days? Mp3?

[Edited on 24-07-2013 by C2RL R]

Yeah MP3 player for the audio book. Makes the tour glad its part of a standard ticket

Upgrade sounds good. Apparently the luxor has a '$20 trick' to get an upgrade. But might just ask as the trick sounds a bit sketchy.

Just booked it Fly into San Fran on 27th Dec, stay there a few days then to San Jose for dinner with her parents then drive down to San Diego and chill there. Possible NYE trip to Vegas with her roomies but that seems off the cards due to £££ () but then spendign a few days in LA before flying back from LAX on 11th Jan Cant wait!

Busiest time of the year. McCarran becomes the busiest Airport in the World over Xmas/NYE.
