made a final decision on the Turbo
The choice was to either go rotated now or the 76mm Billet MD 321V.
Options were either
Lateral Billet GT35R 0.82 or GT30R
Lateral MDX 321V 76mm
Fee said she'd rather have a year with the car at 'normal' power before anything crazy, so being as we have all the pipework for the OE mount turbo (Lateral headers/up-pipe, downpipe etc) the choice was made - 321 V.
So... both cars will be on the same turbo, but Fee's will have the advantage of 2.35 and AVCS over my 2.1.
rear screen cleaned and bonded back in
Steering wheel buttons. Got the OMP panel and some 2mm carbon sheet delivered. Plan was to copy the OMP one for 1/10th of the price BUT decided to make some changes as the OMP one isnt quite big enough for Fees wheel. I.e. I dont think she could reach the top section (where buttons will be - push to pass BOOOST etc) whilst retaining her hands on the wheel. The lower sections are fine as they'll be less hands on (diff, CAL switch etc)
Custom version - needs tidied etc
see which version she prefers... got enough sheet to make another
like so

Be interesting to see how you Vs fee comes on. I'm sure you the faster overall driver (under braking etc going by your vids), so her with slightly more power, wider shell etc (wider track as well?) should give some good racing between you both
Expecting any arguments in 2014

my car is actually wider and runs a wider track 16mm wider each side, so 32mm overall.
We are both running the same offset 9" rims on the same hubs with the same shafts, but mine are stuck out further on hubcentric spacers.
Digging out the bits and bobs for the build up (engine arrives on monday)
ACT clutch for 6speed box + flywheel.
SYVECS S6 GP
and the DCCD controller
need to read up on how it works

Engine ready
Engine started to get its bits bolted on.... need to find some different parts to the ones I'd sourced. Differences between Ph1/2 Imprezas!
Ran out of DEI titanium wrap, thought I could get away with 50' for the exhaust manifold
50' more ordered and will do the DP in that too. Was just going to use the white itchy shit I have lying around for that.

didnt think so.. it looks duller when done with water...
i was always told your best soaking it as it tightens up nice when it dries and lasts longer..

Turbo inlet cut down to try and clear the inlet manifold. Will need to rotate the up-pipe slightly too.
pics of the issues
Turbo = MD321 V Billet (Time Attack version)
Inlet - Newage, rotated with TGV deletes
Heads - Single AVCS
mounting kit for flipped alternator (to suit reversed inlet) on its way from AS Performance. Thought about DIYing something... but it wasnt going to look nice, and most of this car is pretty neat so far... so just bought the kit.
Tyres.... to go with Fee's Pirelli slicks which are a fairly hard compound I have bought some Medium (004) Dunlops. The pirellis seem to take about 8 laps for her to get heat into them... not the best on a 10-12lap race
These wont last as long, but will hopefully get to temp much sooner.
Will use one set on the white car.

looks very nice, lots of goodies, out of interest is there any reason you didnt go rotated and consider alternative turbos?

Does this engine have VVT? Just looking at the top left cam shaft pulley and looks similar to the dephaser on a Clio Sport

rear wing(s) arrived 30mins before my taxi to leave for France... so Fee will have to build it up and mount.
Its got the small end plated in the pic (will use for single element use most likely) and run dual with taller end plates (hang down lower).
1700mm wide, 250mm cord on lower
example of dual
Will be compliant for saloon racing with SMRC, so not stuck way out back and above the roof line like those used in TimeAttack. Will prob pop the upper element above the roof line so its an option for TA use.
quote: maximum width must not exceed the width of the car measured across the rear wheel arches. They must not overhang the rear bodywork longitudinally by more than 100mm
Splitter frame construction is also underway, just using 12mm ply for starters.

Fiona fitted the small wing end plates to the lower large rear wing today. Will wait for the large end plates before trialing the upper element

Latest Banzai feature....photos as always thanks to John Stewart @ Flat Out Photography
21/03/14
and a bit more work done on the car today.....
Front wing and bumper trimmed a bit to stop the tyres rubbing
Rear wing trial fitted..... can be extended up above the roof line, but currently sitting below, and inline with the rear arches to be MSA blue book compliant for SMRC. Just need to get the uprights painted now
And graphics on, thanks to Scott from The Vinyl Cut
New heated windscreen was also fitted during the week, to replace the cracked old one
25/03/14
uprights painted (properly )
Rear tow point fixed
Some sponsor stickers applied
The white decals going over the rear arch make it look quite wide
