Just saying if I struggle to get 39mpg then there's no way he's getting 50mpg out of an old corsa.

76p a litre is the lowest I can remember from my driving days.

Went up to something like 1.10 then dived to 85p somewhere between 2008 and 2010. Those were good days.

It was 59.9p when I started driving in 1997. I also remember there was very little change in fuel prices over 6 month periods.

I remember being pissed off with £0.52 because it had been £0.48 for a while. Then it jumped to £0.56 and I was f*cking incandescent.

I'd be happy with £0.56 now.

Get a thread extraction kit, i've used one before on my motocross bike and they really are brilliant for stud removal.

Splitting hairs or what! 42MPG sounds more accurate. I was getting 35mpg average on my old S plate Audi A3 1.8T and that had 130k on the clock.

1.8t's aren't bad on fuel mine used to be okay, till I went for smiles per gallon and only get low 20's compared to the 39 I used to get.

So this lady has had the F16 fitted??

Wonder why she would go to the hassle of fitting a big block gearbox onto a small block engine.

On the motorway I was getting 42mpg in the audi, but combined it was 35, thats why I thought a normally aspirated Corsa 1.6 should easily make 42mpg.

Still makes you wonder why he has fitted a gearbox with longer ratios than the standard box.

If the competition was to do pointless mods, then im guessing he won.

Do you know if the car was bought from griffin motorsport? Sounds a lot like it was.

Lol he had a different engine in it but put this engine in it to get rid. From what my brother says, the nova was rage flip purple with a massive bodykit and a v6 but how true the v6 bit is I don't know. Rumours tend to become truth in villages lol
