471bhp...

Utterly pointless wheelspin and totally not useable bar anything but top speed. Impressive, but its not exactly shy of power is it

http://www.fiestaturbo.com/feature-cars/luca-184mph-fiesta/

I also like this part

"the only original part is the shell and even that has a carbon roof, bonnet and tailgate."

I remember reading/watching all these features and thinking "what's so hard/scary about going fast straight like that".

Then a few years later I saw this

It was a wet day, in the dry the car is crazy.

300bhp + is the norm now, so 470 isn't that much these days.

it was all over the place at the start with wheel spin, and wasnt running a rear wing. The boot blew off and thats what started the spin.

I reckon the boot came off because it was going sideways. Should be pushing down not lifting up.

When I first watched it I thought he popped it out of gear and then it spun.

The forces of the wind/airflow are huge at 200mph.

Look at Rod tarry's Cossie, that has had to have indicators screwed in; bumper reinforced aero bonnet catches as the standard lip on the Sierra bonnet "peeled" at something like 190mph. It's a big diff between 170-200 apparently.

Some brave swines in little cars if you ask me.

I'd want a bit more wheelbase and wider track before hitting these kinds of speeds.

Same goes for that bloody Fiesta.

Has the TOTB event changed then, as it was 1 mile in the first few years I'm sure?

Cars were doing 170-210mph in 1 mile with 600+bhp.
