I'll be honest, I pulled that out of my back-end based on prices when I was regularly on the Impreza forums, which I've neglected since arriving in the US.

It does appear though that prices are slightly on the up, I know that my model/year has at least held station - but I'd fancy my chances of getting another grand from what I paid for it in 2012 based on others I've seen.

Should be some room to negotiate on something like that. Forum classifieds will be better I reckon, but cba looking right now

Thanks for trying gritt, but none of that lot do it for me really, the GT4 maybe but certain angles I just find them ugly

most of my family has audi's and im at our audi branch of bodyshops, sick to death of audis lol, don't get me wrong new R8's and RS6's are lovely (these are 80k+ cars lol)

MR2..good idea but id sooner have my second choice of a 200sx instead that

and Volvos I just still have pegged as a bit of a granddads car

hmm food for thought on the pulsar, that one is a good example, always scared off them though as most I have seen have been abused heavily lol

I dunno, I just searched for STI's and picked the first one I saw around the £5k mark. Didn't even look at the advert, I was just proving a point

It does look like a good example and has the right mods to make it a track weapon. Big brakes which are a must.

Have a look on the forums too. A good example will hold its money and not give much grief. And with over 300bhp (easy done and still reliable) they are ridiculously quick and will give most things on track a hard time.

I know there's the odd one for £5k with relatively high miles, but honestly you're looking at like £6.5k for anything half decent STI wise in blob or above from what I've seen in the past couple of months.

No worries.

A colleague had a ST205 GT-4 and it was a very capable car - he used it for his daily commute as well as for Autotesting etc. Styling is a bit marmite yeah, but the mechanicals seem pretty bulletproof and they do shift some as well as have good tuning scope.
They aren't really any worse than other Japanese cars from the same era in terms of 'meh' looks mind!

Volvo may be a bit 'Grandad' but again has strong mechanicals and that 5-Pot warble would be yummy. They do shift some too, even in standard form, and they are pretty well tuneable as we know from the T5 being used all over the place with big numbers.
There's nothing wrong with some sleepy Barge action either...

hmmm this one is very tempting, just need to haggle a bit on the price

would any of you lot be put off with it having a new engine fitted 12k ago though...

don't think it would bother me to be honest, got a coilover setup, good power and same tyres as im running now

If the engine has only covered 12k I'd see that as a plus. The fact it's a bug would put me off, since you can get them cheaper. That's blob money.
