Yeah, I did it with the Audi I bought recently. Online transfers are instant nowadays, the money was in his bank before he'd even logged in.
However 4 years ago when I sold my bike it was a nightmare. Took 3 hours of small talk before it finally went through. Guy wanted to leave without payment but I wasn't letting it go, all went through in the end.
Don't bother with cash Gav, no point. Or get a bankers cheque, I paid for M3 with that if you are worried it won't go through instantly.

Its in my grandads garage 
Really want to drive it but we only have a two car driveway. So keeping it over there rather then risk it getting damaged on the road.
Civic may be off to the isle of man on friday if all goes to plan so I will go and pick it up then if so
