look you can't polish a turd at the end of the day you could drop 2 lotus carlton lumps in a nova and i wouldn't be bothered,so a nova is quicker than a corsa, thats cos of all the rust holes a nova has it save a lot on weight

Therefore making a nova super fast is trying to fix a problem that doesnt exist, therefore they are not needed and should all be scrapped.
That would be the same for all Corsa valvers, or corsa LETs or tuned 1.6's?.....surely? In fact any car that is tuned for more performance/acceleration/speed? Including ur punto....no?
Great point u made there dude
I dont own a Punto. 'Dude'

The acceleration difference of the nova with a stripped out rear makes an unbelieveable difference. Yes i no its a nova, i no its 13 years old, but this isnt a statement bout comforts and quality of build. Just bout how sloppy our corsas really are.
Just thought i'd share that with you. Discuss at will.

no u wasn't comparing the corsa valver and the nova, you was saying how it beat a 1.6 sport ?????????,sort your head out
Mate......in the original post, i shud have made it more clear. This is what shud have been said:
I have been out in turbo 1.4's (135bhp), tuned 1.6's (148bhp) and other corsa valvers, and this nova feels a hell of a lot fast. (puts em in the shade).
Not ONCE did i say that my brothers nova could beat a std 1.6 sport. Ur readin between the lines mate. I take it u didnt see the words "turbo", "tuned" etc..?

It is immense torque, in relation to the 25 year old design of the nova.

hence why i got it cost me £200 and only a very small amount of rust dont forget they led the way when it came to c20xe conversions in vauxs that didnt come with them would people be doing them if that had not been done well maybe but i still think a nova is a good car for modding if done properly

i own a mk1 fiesta but i ain't gonna spend money on it like dropping a rs turbo lump in cos its a waste when the car has 0 value to begin with,it's just a run around

no mate, the condition of the bodywork after 25 years. That is incorrect. Again you are not reading or understanding what i write. I hope you will read this correctly....
25 years ago, vauxhall designed a car with very little safety in mind, and so the chassis and engine bay area was constructed with alot thinner metal that the corsa has. The Corsa has this due to improved safety standard levels that the car had to adhere to in 1993. There is no mention of rust in the above comment. HUnfortunately, due to the thinner metal, rust was more common on novas.
However, sayin this, my 1993 had a lot of rust, especially surface rust under plastic arches, underside, roof etc. Now, my car was fully serviced by vaux since 1993 and due to knowin the old guy who had it before me, was never thrashed etc. Now can u explain the problems i am havin with my corsa? I mean, they are meant to be so great compared to nova's, which funnily enough never had B pillar cracks, which the majority of pre 97 corsa's had.

I believe that Dan, and other ppl who have contributed to this post have a very arrogant attitude.
It goes along the lines of "i have a valver corsa, i have spent all this money on it, i dont wanna anyone to tell me a nova is better."
I have said, yes the corsa is a better car. Far more well constructed, designed etc, so there is no more need to argue this with me.
The fact that his valver corsa (which i would understand he believes is very fast etc) is SLOWER than a rusty old valver nova. Maybe this has hit a nerv.

Matt
the valver corsa is fast i tell you what why don't i race your corsa ,and i really am not bothered if the nova is faster like i say i think the nova looks shit thats why i put the engine in a corsa not a nova,ff's i could buy a valver nova if i wanted 1,but i would never want 1
and no 1 will ever tell me a nova is better, cos they ain't might b slightly quicker but thats nothing a bit of mild tunning can't sort

Lets not get comparing faults here - my 1.2 nova that was my first car - a b-reg had the cam start to go due to nameless thrashing from cold everyday - the brake seals also went and cost me all of £5 to fix............My corsa had the top end go - the valve lifters sticking etc and was gonna cost me a shat load of money to fix.
The repairs to my engine alone were twice what my whole nova was worth.
Im not having a 16v engine again
