I preferred the refinement of the S, expecially for everyday use. The Type R does feel a lot more raw. I have never driven a Leon Cupra R either. I have driven an Ibiza though and was not as impressed as I had hoped. It was impressive, but all the rave reviews made me think it would blow me away.

Golf R32 gets my vote as an all round hot hatch Might be heavy, but they really do handle well considering.

Next to that is that 250bhp alfa hatchback, cant rememebr the name

Thought they had completely scrapped the Focus Cosworth project?

It also cost nearly £10K more than any of the cars we have discussed

the golf R32 is more a luxury car than a hot hatch, too big and comfy to be a true hot hatch

cars like the CTR are raw, not big, luxurious or comfortable, the engine doesn't like cruising along at low revs, this is a hot hatch

The 147GTA and the R32 both cost considerably more than the cars discussed here though. I think the R32 is about an extra 10k!

Not sure about the Focus Cosworth. Everybody seems to have a different story!

Nice to see there are still some members who can't have a discussion on cars.

Not one car mentioned in this entire thread will catch a focus RS round a track. How is that not impressive?
Just because it didn't have 400bhp its not a great car?

So what if its an extra 10k or so :S

the mini is quite a bit more than a ctr too!

The golf is still a hatchback, and its quite hot as for luxury car - yea, but its still quick!

I never said they would. I am just saying it was not the car it should have been.

Well what should it have been?? The RS cars were never as powerful as the cosworths, all they are doing is following the same trend.

I don't like the new mini's. The only thing 'mini' about the new mini's is that they look like mini 4x4 Landrovers with the big plastic stick on arches etc. My opinion anyway.
