Golf went to mech on friday, to replace passenger front wheels bearing as it was droning like fook! so decided to get them both done and the track rod ends too. then it turned out it need a new outter CV joint (the ball bearings fell out ) and there was a split in the ball joint
So im getting 2 x ball joint 2 x track rod ends. 2 front bearings and 1 x cv joint. Woopee

Fad, same here, explains the loud clonk on full lock that i've had a couple months
Prices are not too bad
Ball joints were £35 for pair
Bearings were £60ish for pair
Track rods £20 for pair
CV joint £tba! should be around £50 though, and then labour.
Holy fook adding it up like that was a bad idea More than i thought

Charge that back to the glass people!
Got the car back loud clunk on full lock has gone, so that was probably the CV that fell to bits
Droning is still there so im thinking its tyres, shoulda just changed them first but if that would have stopped the droning i probably wouldnt have found out about the CV joint until it blew
