Uprateds can handle more power but need replacing at about half the time of the OEM ones

Don't want them and I don't think you can get them for the Astra anyway.

Yellows will need a lot of heat to get them working will they not. Will feel garbage round the town but I'm sure they will get working at speed..

Nope, they got hot earlier and they were useless. Verging on dangerous. I've spoke to Dave Pearce @ DAP and he has said that the only Astra VXR that caught him out was one with Yellowstuff pads, he said I'd be better off getting my OE pads back on

the yellows may just need a hard bedding in olly, but tbh, if you have no confidence in them just swap for peace of mind, www.raceparts.co.uk stock mintex
as for me, amazingly car is loaded, i have also fitted new pads which seem to be a touch big for the caliper so may neeed a fettle, but other than that, ready to go, not long now, proper excited!!
so excited i also fitted a new sticker, just because i found it, got to be worth a tenth or two lmao
see you there!

I might do a few more long hard braking session, motorway slips roads etc. But from what I'm hearing from those in the know these pads are useless in the Astra due to the weight of the car.
In light weight cars they are a lot better.

^^ Awesome nova
I've just returned from Jamsport... 4 words...
Jamie - Is - A - Legend.
He's setup my coilovers superbly. So much better now, basically what I was hoping for from the start. No roll, plenty of grip, more progressive control, nice low ride height and it's nicely damped so doesn't shatter your teeth on the road THANKS JAMSPORT.
Plus, Jamie took me out in my own car Holy shit, it was bloody amazing... He was drifting it sideways on roundabouts past other traffic... they were giving looks like 'what the fuck?' - then he was drifting it continuely around a roundabout in circles, once again great car control!
I really need to learn to drive RWD a lot better. I find when the rear lets go I'm giving too much correction. Need to find a nice empty roundabout to practice on or buy a shitter mx5 and learn with it, then sell it.

Have you bedded them in correctly?
My Ds2500's come with instructions for bedding in... I think it says 'In the pitlane do 10 stops from 60mph down to 0 mph hard braking. Then 10 stops from about 90 mph down to 20 mph hard braking'. Then go race.

No instructions given. Go steady for the first 250 miles, then start smashing the brakes on and fuck the tyres up.

nah... if they're anything like ds2500's they'll be shit if you go steady for first 250 miles...
Basically what stops you is the brake pad material getting on the discs and forming a layer to work against.
Follow my advice.. do it with short 30 second interval or so inbetween the braking hard.

thats the way i bed pads in, are the discs new? you can sometimes get pads that dont like to work on discs that have had other pads on due to compound residue on the disc, nomally only when going from carbon based pads though

Yep, new 16 groove discs which I've now been told are pretty useless as well. Better off with 4-6 grooves.
