Not bothered about Chamakh tbh, we've now got the back-up we need with Jovanovic.

Apparently the Russian press are strongly linking us with agreeing some sort of deal for Milos Krasic from CSKA Moscow.

Last teams I remember going out of business were Maidstone & Aldershot and they were Div 4.

What about:
Scarborough
Halifax
Kings Lynn
Telford
Boston
Chester (in a few days)
To name but a few, loads of clubs are fucked right now, just they dont get the attention that Pompey get. Bit shit really, as although i know most people are going to say they are small clubs and who cares but they are someones team and I'd be heartbroken if my club went bust, we very nearly did and it was awful
And lets not forget 5 of those 6 i listed were League 1/2 clubs not that long ago...

The local team, telford went out of business few years back while in conference. same way Chester City are going too. Started again and now 1 divison below where they were and with probably one the best grounds outside the football league too.
Scarey the amount of teams that are close to folding though, surely it will only get worse too

Just like it will at Chester. If you have played Portsmouth twice and won twice you would lose your 6 points you thought you had. However if you have lost twice you would lose 0 points. Any team that has played them twice would also get them games back and may then have some in hand they thought they didn't have.
for instance thsi would be the effect on the conference when/if chester go bust
http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=tf3a-ZqBEZ28383pD5sgEeg&output=html
Luton would gain the most as they have played them twice and drawn against them both times, they lose two. We would lose 3, having played them once and won, So therefore Luton gain on us by 1 point and get their game in hand back. Stevenage lose 6, as do Cambridge who plummet into a relegation battle

Not to mention it isn't really fair on the teams who have played extra games they didn't need to and picked up injuries/suspensions against them, that shouldnt even have existed. Goal difference will also be affected.
Oh and anyone who was owed money from them can also kiss goodbye to that.

If Chester do continue then who will they field? Their players will flat out refuse. So anyone who has to play them would spank the kids/ressies. Rather we didn't gain anything at the expense of another club tbh.

They won't continue. They have no ground to play at, no team to play with and no fans to come watch.
No ifs or buts about it anymore, Chester City FC dies this week.

Yeah, meeting today, so i suppose expect an announcement that they have been thrown out the league Friday.
But then, this is the Conference so anything could happen...
Chester automatically promoted to premiership to solve financial issues. Steven Vaughan given knighthood.
Something like that...

Agree. They couldn't take the embarrassment. Not to mention the big clubs who really run the league will be up in arms if they were to lose out and would probably threaten to break away and start a new league

Well Pompey probably beat them at some point which no doubt led to them being an average CCC team. So yeah, why not.

They would definitely have been CL champions 5 times had they not beaten go down so undeservedly.
